 LƐSIN  Tri (3)

Aw aw

Before doing the, 'aw' sawnd, I would like to run quickly through the,                                                        'i' sound, which is very easy.

'i' is always 'i' as in 'it'.

'i' = it  in   if   is   pin

We'll do that in more detail later.

Aw  aw

The sawnd of the consonant 'w' is always 'w' as in water   walk   window.

( di sawnd 'w' na in bigin- wata waka    winda)

If yu say the sound 'a' followed by the sound for 'w',

that would be a - w = aw.

a + w = a-w.   'aw'

a - a jam in yay.

w - a want wata.

if yu se 'a' dɛn yu se 'w' - dat na 'aw'.

aw fɔ du? Gɔd de.

Practise reading 'a'  'ay' and 'aw', in the following sentences.

1. aw di mami fil naw?  i stil sik?

2. aw fa i  go na skul?  i rich Klas fayv.

3. di pikin dray. di Miami stawt.

4. di stawt mami fasin insay di chia.

5. da yala gawn fayn.
